a blog to track my journey of external and internal transformation. I want to look and feel better inside and out. This blog will have thoughts on personal fitness, beauty and fashion for the outer body and meditation, motivation, self discipline and creative expression for my internal transformation.
I must confess, the only reason I pulled out the paints and brush today was to see her dressed up in her smock, if you please. I thought she looked quite edible.
Hey Anj...the greatest mommy in the world prize goes to you :)) You really are doing a wonderful job with your baby... she is becoming more and more precious to us with each swoosh of her brush and toothy smile that follows... Try and set up some sort of pin up board where you can pin up her creative work -- I am sure she will like that :)
Pri meri pyaari, I learnt from the you..Niku and I are having lots of fun these days, can't wait to meet you'll. BTW congrats to the bacchaas on their medals, I am very proud.
Sur: Thanks for reading and your kind thoughts always. I heard about the scm meetup at Mocha and saw pics on the google group page, are you a member?
I was skipping through your archives and read the entry - of over a year ago, I think - about the family bed. I was wondering: are you still co-sleeping now, and how is it going? Have you "embraced the fatigue"?
no better way to say it, we have 'embraced the fatigue' because the joy of sleeping next to a warm baby outweighs the discomforts of sleep deprivation by a LOT=) We have a crib with no side, flush with my side of the bed. After falling asleep next to me I think she gets hot in my blanket, and slowly scoots upwards. Before I know it she is parallel to the pillow with her feet on my face or whatever part of my body is in her way and the top half of her body on the crib. She usually wakes up twice on good nights and four to five times on bad nights and looks for me. She usually dives towards where my head is and sometimes, there is loud clunking of heads! Anyway then she lays right next to me again only to repeat the whole process again. I'm just used to it now. I'll sleep later in my life! Dh tries subtle ways to suggest independent sleeping but I always end up like this, it feels the best. At one point we did try the toddler bed next to me, but she woke up more often and wasn't at the same level as me so she was more distressed and woke up more. So the present state is the best for us, lack of sleep notwithstanding.
What you describe - especially thumki's movements in the bed at night - is so recognizable! Amie also ends up parallel to the pillow. I'm the lucky one in that equation, because I get her head on my shoulder. DH gets the feet in his face! But I agree with you: the sleep deprivation is so worth it! Amie has her own little bed right next to ours. But when we ask her to choose between the "big bed" or "her bed", she mostly chooses the first, and on the rare occasions when she goes to the second, by 1 am she has "moved up". To be honest, I sleep less well when I don't have that heavy ball of warmth and breath pushing against me! Kaat at MamaStories
